In 1975, when still a student at Glasgow School of Art, David Brittain approached Third Eye Centre director Tom McGrath with a project to photograph those passing by the Sauchiehall Street window of the centre, with the photos to be displayed in a grid in the same window.
Brittain went on to a long and productive engagement with photography as a writer, reviewer, editor of ‘Creative Camera’, documentary maker, curator and academic researcher.
He recently rediscovered these photographs, and has produced this small photo book of the project containing the images and a text relating the circumstances of its making.
