Nathalie de Briey & Ilana Halperin - The Fleeting
Nathalie de Briey and Ilana Halperin spent several weeks living and working on the island of North Uist looking at how both geological and human events are recorded through ephemeral actions. As evidence of time is central within each of their practices, the Uists have proven an ideal field site to deepen their investigations through encountering distant geology - where each band is a record of a physical and instantaneous event; where amalgamated objects from as far afield as Hiroshima inhabit garage windows en route to Kildonan Museum, serving as testimony to the events of 1945 and mirroring the geological processes which formed the landscape - melting and reforming Geology and human time alongside each other.
